Dr Mellas is a Senior Lecturer in Byzantine History and Liturgical Studies at St Andrew's Greek Orthodox Theological College. Dr Mellas has published multiple chapters and articles on the history of Byzantium, liturgics, and hymnody in various peer-reviewed publications, having also presented numerous papers on these subjects at different international conferences. Furthermore, he is a member of the Australian Byzantine Choir.
