the mission.

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”  (Mat. 11:28-30)

Yoke aims to provide an opportunity for Christian Orthodox youth to unite and become enlightened, equipped and strengthened with the spiritual armour to combat the struggles of the modern world.

Historically, a yoke; wooden beam, was used to join two animals together to carry a load. In the 21st century, young adults are confronted with a range of yokes, obstacles and struggles which can impair their relationship with God, provoke anxiety, distress and doubt. However, Christ actively invites youth to not carry their burdens alone yet to 'Take [His] yoke upon [them]," and exchange their burdens for the yoke of Christ; a metaphor for His teachings and path. Through this, youth can become strengthened to live as loving, humble, patient, courageous and compassionate Orthodox Christians in the rapidly changing modern world.
