Mother Maria of Paris Mission

"Love one another—only to the end, and without exceptions."

The Mother Maria of Paris Greek Orthodox Mission had its humble beginnings in 2019 when with the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia began its ministry to serve others. The Mission seeks to show ‘love to the end and without exception’ by providing support and service directly to the disadvantaged. The Mission coordinates groups of compassionate and dedicated volunteers that together assist in sourcing, preparation and distribution of regular meals to the homeless and others in need as well as occasional donations of clothing and other necessities. To date the Mother Maria of Paris Greek Orthodox Mission has coordinated numerous efforts.

These efforts include, sourcing bread from Bakers Delight and sharing it local schools, local families, community centres and shelters, adding it into our food bags and meals on wheels. In support of Oz Harvest, we organise food parcel bags, distributed every second Tuesday. With the generous support of the students of All Saints Grammar who supply groceries provides other families who are doing it tough. We cook hot meals every Wednesday and supplies them to the shelters and community centres.

In addition to serving food, Mother Maria also organises the creation of hygiene packs, supplying them to those in need, as well as other types of goods and services. To keep this initiative alive, Mother Maria runs Children cooking classes, to not only support the feeding programs, but to bring awareness of need in the community. Our mission also often calls out to those who can assist in making blankets, particularly in the colder months.
